Miami Heat

How far can they go?

Coming off last seasons record of 46-36 finishing 8th in the eastern conference getting swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics. The team is performing well Bam is averaging a near 20 and 10 double-double. Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are both averaging 20 point per game. the stars are playing good basketball. In order for the heat to go further yes Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler both need to elevate their scoring but for this heat team it's all about who steps up from the supporting cast. You got guys like Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez, Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and Caleb Martin who show signs of life throughout last season but in order to go further Terry Rozier needs to become more of a floor general. Averaging 4.6 assists as a point guard will not cut it for this heat team. Duncan Robinson got paid $70 million. He needs to be averaging more than 12.8 points a game on 2.8 made 3's a game. For 70 million he should be making at least 5-7 threes a game. Jamie Jaquez has flourished into an excited role player. His production last season leads me to believe he will play at a higher level this year. With the addition of Kel'el Ware with the 15th pick at the center position it gives an opportunity for the Heat to compete on the defensive end when it comes to blocking shots, last year being the worst team in the league at blocking shots, hopefully that improves. Overall the heat could sneak into the second round if they just continue to improve.
